The Next Brain-Computer Interface Race

The gates of the SWISS Arena in Kloten in the vicinity of Zurich will be opened for the second edition of the Cybathlon on 2 – 3 May 2020. The ETH Zurich website states: „After the six disciplines of the CYBATHLON 2016 have proven themselves, they will remain in the program of CYBATHLON 2020. This means that visitors and pilots can look forward to Brain-Computer Interface Race, Functional Electrical Stimulation Bike Race, Powered Arm Prosthesis Race, Powered Leg Prosthesis Race, Powered Exoskeleton Race as Powered Wheelchair Race. The tasks will continue to be relevant to everyday life, but will reflect advances in research.“ (Website ETHZ) Athletes with disabilities competed against each other in the 2016 Cybathlon. The teams came from all over the world. The event has attracted international attention. Technical challenges and questions of information ethics and medical ethics were discussed.
